Climatic Change, Drought and Dust Crisis in Iran
نویسنده
چکیده
Drought is a phenomenon caused by environmental and climatic changes. This phenomenon is affected by shortage of rainfall and temperature. Dust is one of important environmental problems caused by climate change and drought. With recent multi-year drought, many environmental crises caused by dust in Iran and Middle East. Dust in the vast areas of the provinces occurs with high frequency. By dust affecting many problems created in terms of health, social and economic. In this study, we tried to study the most important factors causing dust. In this way we have used the satellite images and meteorological data. Finally, strategies to deal with the dust will be mentioned. Keywords—Drought, Environment, Dust.

Dust Storm Frequency in Connection with Climatic Change in the Arid Region of Iran
Dust storms in arid and semi-arid regions have harmful impacts on the environment, the economy, and the health of local and global communities. In this study, the frequency of annual dust events in twenty-five stations and five climatic variables including rainfall, maximum annual wind speed, average annual wind speed, maximum annual temperature, and average annual temperature in arid regions o...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Effect of Climatic Parameters and Meteorological Droughts on the Variation of Internal Dust Events (A Case Study: Qazvin City)
The occurrence of wind erosion and the spread of dust particles can be regarded as one of the most important and threatening environmental factors. Climate change and the frequency of droughts have played an important role in exacerbating or weakening these events. The primary objective of the present study was to investigate the trend of changes in four important climatic elements (precipitati...
متن کاملThe effect of drought in the source area of dust storms on vegetation change (case study: western parts of Iran)
Water scarcity is one of the factors limiting plant growth and development. More than onethird of the global terrestrial ecosystems is located in arid and semi-arid regions. The mostimportant limiting factor for plant growth is water shortage. Drought could significantlychange the natural vegetation cover. Rainfall reduction in Iraq, Turkey and Syria hasreduced vegetation cover so that dust sto...
متن کاملAnalyzing the effects of climate change on dust events, a case study: Khorasan Razavi province
Introduction: Climatic components are the vital factors influencing the dust event. It was believed that changes in climate parameters play a crucial role in the occurrence of dust events. Former studies have shown that temperature, rainfall, and wind speed contribute to poor vegetation, providing requirements of dust events. Long-term dust data indicated that climate has a profound effect on d...
متن کاملModelling the Relationship between the Frequency of Dust Storms and Climatic Variables in the Summer Time in Desert Areas of Iran
The purpose of this study was to model the relationship between the frequency of dust storms and climatic variables in desert areas of Iran. For this purpose, climatic data of temperature (maximum and minimum), rainfall, wind speed (maximum and minimum), and their relationship with the number of days with dust recorded in 25 meteorological stations (statistical period since their inception unti...
